Welcome to the Newcastle Private Rented Service.

The Service offers FREE support and advice to Tenants, Landlords and Agencies involved in the Private Rented Sector in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Our aim is to help create a well informed, well run and well managed private rented sector across the city.

The Newcastle Private Rented Service (previously known as the Project) was established in 1997 to improve standards in the private rented sector in the west end of Newcastle and since then we have developed a whole range of Services and Good Practice. 

In 2007 we became part of Newcastle City Council Local Authority and we currently sit in the Environment and Regeneration Directorate.

The Service now covers the whole Newcastle area with three teams dedicated to working in the West End, East End and North Central areas.

We currently have a friendly staff of 10 who come from a variety of backgrounds and all are happy to answer questions and take on new challenges.
